These are the most well-known and most common type of braces. They have been developed so that they are more comfortable than they have ever been in the past. These high-grade stainless steel braces will straighten your teeth with metal brackets and archwires. There is the added option of adding colorful elastic band to fit your personality.

Metal Braces

Self-ligating braces are identical in material to metal braces. The difference is that they do not use the elastic rubber bands. This results in fewer appointments and less stress on the teeth.  They use a special clip rather than the rubber bands to help the arch wire guide the crooked teeth into alignment. The pressure on the teeth is less, and few adjustments are needed since no elastics need to be replaced.

Self-Ligating Braces

Clear braces work in exactly the same way as metal braces; however, they are made of material that matches the color of your teeth. This makes them less visible and more aesthetically pleasing.  They are generally used by older teens and adults who are more concerned about cosmetic appearances. Although clear braces are less noticeable, they do need a higher level of oral hygiene. They are larger and more delicate than metal braces. For these reasons, they are more often used on upper front teeth than on lower teeth.

Clear Braces (Ceramic Braces)

A popular choice for many orthodontic patients, Invisalign clear aligners consist of a series of removable acrylic trays that straighten crooked teeth like braces. Because of the clear material used in manufacturing these aligners, they are virtually invisible. Another positive is that they are easily removable. so you can eat, drink, brush, and floss without limitations. Invisalign aligners are also more comfortable to the inside of the mouth than traditional metal braces.
